UPROXX 20: Vincent Rodriguez III Has Taco Chili And Vodka Margaritas Waiting For You

Vincent Rodriguez III is an actor probably best known for portraying Josh Chan on The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. (Read our review of the series here.) Vincent was nice enough to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule recently to answer a few questions from us.

1. You walk into a bar. What do your order from the bartender?

Chicken Fingers w/ BBQ sauce. Fries, if I’m not training for a shirtless scene. And a Grey Goose & tonic.

2. Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter?

Funny people.

3. What’s currently waiting for you on your DVR/TiVO?

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and SNL. It’s not my DVR so… yeah.

4. It’s your last meal — what are you going out with?

Breaded bacon mac & cheese bites on top of a thin crust pepperoni pizza, w/ a pecan-topped Cinnabon in the center. Well, you asked.

5. What websites do you visit on a regular basis?

Facebook. Does that count? Gmail. Yeah, Gmail.

6. What’s the most frequently played song on your mobile device?

Anything from the Broadway musical, Hamilton, or my recent obsession, K Pop music: SHINee, Exo and Super Junior.

7. The first face that comes to mind when you think “punchable?”

That dummy torso with the real-looking upper body and head, from my days in martial arts class. But I usually stick to punching bags. I’m a lover. Not a fighter.

8. What’s the last thing you googled?

How to transfer from one MacBook to a new MacBook. That situation ended with a trip to the Geek Squad.

9. Dogs or cats?

Dogs. But I live with a cat. Her nickname is The Diva. She likes to boss me around.

10. Best concert of your life was…?

Michael Buble in the Bahamas. Front row. It was so cool!

11. What book are you most likely to give as a gift?

One that I’ve found myself gifting in the past two years is Quantum Paleo by Dr. Doug Willen. That book helped me during the time I was training to give myself a superhero body for my birthday.

12. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

That is a difficult question to answer cause so many friends and family have helped me through the years. I couldn’t pick just one cause they all made such a strong contribution.

13. South Park or Family Guy?

Family Guy. Sorry, Trey and Matt! I loved Book of Mormon. =)

14. You have an entire day to do whatever you want. What would you do?

Sleep in, then the beach.

15. What movie can you not resist watching if it’s on?

There are too many. Two days ago, it was Iron Man 2. Next time, it could be Back to the Future II or Batman Begins.

16. The sports team or teams you’re most passionate about?

Not a big fan of sports. Not my thing.

17. Where did you eat the best meal of your life?

Probably on Irving Street in San Francisco with my typical local sushi and bubble tea combo.

18. The last movie you saw in a theater?

Ant-Man. Plus, I saw it at an AMC Prime; stadium seating!

19. Who was your first celebrity crush?

I was a chunky Asian kid who did martial arts, so, Dean Cain, because he was my idol and I thought it was cool that Superman could be part Asian. Also, Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman. She was hot AND had super powers. So, I basically had crushes on my favorite superheroes.

20. What would you cook if Nic Cage was coming to your house for dinner?

My “on tour” staple meal: Taco Chili. Complete with romaine lettuce boats and guacamole hummus. And of course my special vodka margaritas. Tequila gives me ‘Asian Glow.’
