Deadpool reportedly had only a $58 million budget, which necessitated cutting several characters Fox executives deemed too expensive, until they finally settled on Colossus, Angel Dust, Ajax, and “Negasonic, what?“. Now they’re working with a bigger budget for Deadpool 2, and they’ve already added Cable (Josh Brolin) and possibly Domino to the roster. Co-writer Rhett Reese has said they want “a lot of characters,” and it also seems clear they want to bring together the X-Force, which makes this new rumor unsurprising.
According to Comic Book, three more X-Force characters are being cast in Deadpool 2. Potential spoilers ahead.
Deadpool 2 will reportedly have a post-credits scene to set up a future X-Force movie. The scene includes an appearance by three mutants from the X-Force: Sunspot, Feral, and Shatterstar.
Sunspot is from Rio de Janeiro and can absorb light to cloak himself and increase his strength. Adan Canto played the character in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Feral is a New Yorker with healing factor and a cat-like appearance along with cat-like agility, claws, fangs, and a prehensile tail, which Deadpool surely won’t make a bawdy joke about.
Shatterstar has hollow bones, a low body weight, and weird-looking eyes (groovy mutations, dude). He’s the son of Dazzler and Longshot, but he also created Longshot thanks to time travel. Does this mean Deadpool will be humming the song “I’m My Own Grandpa” at some point?
Those three aren’t the same new additions a previous rumor claimed; that rumor stated Psylocke and Archangel from X-Men: Apocalypse would cross over with Deadpool. If the new rumor is true, it would seem Fox is trying to keep Deadpool separate from X-Men: Apocalypse, which wouldn’t be a surprise.
