“Forget what you know about the X-Men from the comics, animated series, or previous movies, because so did Bryan Singer.” That’s SHOTS FIRED from Screen Junkies in their newest honest trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, which just released on Blu-ray this month. Screen Junkies pulls no punches, saying, “Strap in for the sequel to the sequel of the reboot prequel that continues the decade-hopping gimmick for no reason, as the timeline they’ve more or less sorted out in the last movie completely craps the bed.”

But they save the sickest burn for the end, when Sansa Stark — er, Jean Grey we mean — makes the surprisingly-prescient meta joke, “At least we can all agree the third one’s always the worst.”

Oh, that’s a burn. And yeah, maybe the movie could have done with less Full Skeletor-ing from this Ivan Ooze and instead showed off more of the powers he had earlier in the movie, although I’d settle for some dancing instead. I’m easily amused. Say what you will about X-Men: Apocalypse (and we have), I’ll still show up to watch Magneto being all out of f*cks to give. Who among us hasn’t wanted to sassily Magneto our way out of a conversation?
