Ye Ali’s Seductive ‘Oceans’ And ‘What To Do’ Preview The Promise That Is His ‘Traphouse Jodeci’ Project

Ye Ali’s TrapHouseJodeci project isn’t due for release until Thursday, but the L.A. by way of Indiana singer has already released two tracks from the project. The slow jam “Oceans” highlights the young artist’s smooth vocal stylings in a more traditional manner — hence the Jodeci reference in the album’s title, while “What to Do” featuring K Camp is a seductive, trap-influenced R&B track (TrapHouse) asking the listener to come over and “make a movie.”

Both “Oceans” and “What to Do” are produced by Bizness Boi and Th3ory with additional production by Cardiak and co-production by Prep Bijan, respectively. Look out for TrapHouseJodeci on August 25.

Work on the 12-track TrapHouseJodeci started about a year ago, while Ye Ali was penning tracks for up-and-coming artists in the L.A. area and discovered a passion for hook-driven production and music influenced by Sade, Elton John, and Jodeci.

Ye had the following message to share about the project:

To my fans: Thank you for waiting so long for me. I spent countless nites recording for THJ. I hope this album makes you as happy as it makes me.
