MIchael Bay’s upcoming “Transformers 4” will have a mostly new cast (no more Shia LaBeouf), but just who will play the human lead in the giant robot film? Rumors indicate that none other than “Ted” star Mark Wahlberg is being considered for the role. Wahlberg worked with Bay on the upcoming comedy “Pain and Gain.” Although Bay says that the two are planning on collaborating on a different film, is there still a chance that Wahlberg will meet Optimus Prime, Megatron and the rest of the Cybertron gang? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, it’s a juicy enough rumor to push “Transformers 4” to the top of this week’s list.

5. “The Informationist” (Last week: Not ranked)
It’s always a big deal when James Cameron announces a new film — especially when it’s not another “Avatar” sequel.
6. “The Wolverine” (Last week: No. 9)
Director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman made a few revelations about the film that already have us queuing for tickets. The too-cool new poster seals the deal.
7. “A Good Day to Die Hard” (Last week: Not ranked)
Another new trailer highlights the junior McClane’s wise-cracking, ass-kicking skills.
8. “Wanted 2” (Last week: Not ranked)
Will the new lead female character be as bad-ass as Angelina Jolie’s Fox in the first film?
9. “The Hobbit” (Last week: No. 10)
Sometimes less is more (we hope). Peter Jackson unveiled the running time of the first of three “Hobbit” movies: 2 hours and 40 minutes. That’s rather svelte compared to the “Lord of the Rings” films.
