The Warriors, one of the biggest cult classic action thrillers of its time, is getting a television adaptation. As first reported by Deadline, the Russo brothers (known for directing everything from Arrested Development to Community to Captain America) are set to team up with writer Frank Baldwin for the TV series.

The violent film, about rival New York City street gangs, has already been spunoff multiple times (the movie is actually an adaptation of the novel of the same time) into a comic book series and a video game. A remake of the film has been rumored for years.

But it looks like this TV series might actually take; the Russo brothers are huge right now, and the series is being made in conjunction with Paramount Television Production and Hulu.
