It’s been nearly a month since the passing of Anton Yelchin in a freak car accident. Many have shared their grief, fond memories, and outrage over the loss of the young star and now his family is sending some thoughts out in return. Irina and Viktor Yelchin recently took out the ad above in The Hollywood Reporter, thanking the fans and supporters of their son who sent memorials or just a kind word during this dark moment:
“Thank you,” the note reads, “to all of you who have sent flowers and gifts, for your condolences and kind words…we are deeply grateful for your unconditional love…he would be surprised at how many hearts and souls he touched.”
Yelchin’s Star Trek cast members have shared plenty of memories over the past weeks, with Zachary Quinto appearing on The Late Show and revealing how much the loss affected him. Similar feelings were shared in the immediate wake of his passing, with highlights from the on the set showing the fun relationship the cast seemed to share with each other.
Even with the release of Green Room earlier this week, you’re reminded of what is lost. Knowing the family appreciated the outpouring is something to hold dear in light of all the sadness.
