Playground arguments over which superhero is better – Batman or Superman – are as old as the characters themselves, and there can be a legitimate argument made for either hero to come out on top in a head to head battle. But before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice answers that question definitively in a few weeks and offers up more evidence to be used in said arguments, there is a new study that says Superman can beat Batman in at least one area. Most people assume that Batman’s finances can beat any other super hero’s with ease. What with a company worth billions of dollars and the money to build a bunch of cool gadgets, he is the most well known billionaire in comics this side of Tony Stark.
However, Batman being the richest of all of the comic book characters might be an incorrect conclusion based on an infographic that the people over at The Bit Bag put together. Based on their studies, Superman doesn’t earn as much every year but all of his other assets more than make up for the salary discrepancy between the two crusaders. Kryptonian spaceships don’t come cheap after all, and that’s a one of a kind vehicle whereas Batman’s car and motorcycles are constantly being re-vamped or rebuilt. Plus, as the infographic so smartly points out, Superman never has to pay for any hospital bills, health insurance, or life insurance. Bruce would have to increase the value of Wayne Enterprises nearly threefold for him to be able to catch up to Clark, which must hurt a bit seeing as one of his main character traits is “guy that’s really really rich.”
The one estimate that stands out as a little off is Kent’s salary being $97,000 a year. There’s no way a journalist makes that much, especially one who is constantly leaving the office to go on mysterious errands. Now that this comparison is settled, and the question of whether people would really fail to recognize Superman with only glasses as a disguise is answered, the next big mystery is how much more amazing Wonder Woman will be in Dawn of Justice than the two title characters. We bet the answer will be “a lot more” but we’ll find out for sure when the movie hits screens shortly.
