It wouldn’t be the end of the year without a dumb War on Christmas controversy, best-of lists, and Daniel Kim’s annual Pop Danthology videos. The DJ combined 2015’s biggest hits into an epic mashup. This year, it’s actually split into two parts, because Kim “found myself cutting down so much of the original musical pieces just to ‘jam’ in as many songs as I could.”
There are a lot of songs in there, including singles from Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Ellie Goulding, Adele, Fetty Wap, Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Drake, Walk the Moon, Carly Rae Jepsen, Selena Gomez, Silento, and everyone else who dominated top-40 radio stations in 2015.
It’s fun listening to nearly 12 months of pop #content in four-minute chunks, but it’s even more amusing to predict which song will sound the most “the hell were we thinking?” this time next year. For instance, the 2014 Pop Danthology included “I’m a Freak” by Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull, which, oops. My money’s on “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” or Redfoo’s “Where the Sun Goes,” which already sounds regrettable. We should’ve left him in 2011.
Here’s the full list of songs.
