Swearing. If it’s good enough for Martin Scorsese, it should be good enough for you. There are a lot of musicians who use words that have been deemed “uncouth” or “vulgar,” but, the question is, can we quantify that? The website Musixmatch did, and so now we have an answer.
Well, we have an answer, if not the answer. There have been a ton of musicians over the course of human events, and it would have been impossible for them to scour the lyrics of every artist to ever live. As such, they honed in on the 361 most Googled names in music. That’s why you won’t find Wesley Willis on the list. So, of these artists, who is the most foulmouthed?
If you are looking at quantity, the winner is Lil Wayne. He’s followed by 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and T.I. However, when you measure it by how frequently somebody swears, on a word-by-word basis, the new victor is Chief Keef, followed by Dr. Dre, N.W.A, A$AP Rocky, and Young Thug.
Outside of the world of rap music, the most profane of all genres apparently, Korn is the most profane metal band, and Green Day the most profane rock band. So, if you like hearing swearing, you know who to listen to now, before you get your mouth washed out with soap.
