Remember back when Jesse Ventura was elected governor of Minnesota and we thought how crazy it would be if he got elected President someday? Well, that’s never really been in danger of happening, but the idea of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson running for President is less “crazy” and more on the “awesome” side of things. Just a few months ago, The Rock went on record as saying he “hasn’t ruled out” entering the political arena, citing possibilities of gubernatorial or presidential candidacy.
Vanity Fair asked Johnson on Sunday whether he was still thinking about political aspirations in the next election cycle. He stuck by his original answer: he’s not ruling it out. Let’s just hope he starts thinking about it more seriously over the next four years.
“I wouldn’t rule it out. It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”
There’s absolutely no telling what party affiliation under which Johnson would run, if any. But one could imagine that nothing would energize people who don’t normally vote more than having the biggest movie start in the world running for President of the United States.
Now let’s all begin daydreaming about The Rock signing executive decisions about shining the national debt up real nice, turning it sideways and … I’m not actually sure where he would stick the national debt. The Grand Canyon? (Note to self: how does money work?)
President The Rock. We’ve found out just this past week that stranger things can definitely happen.
