As an on-again off-again performer for WWE, we know for sure that Chris Jericho isn’t going to stay around forever. Jericho, while still a great performer, is in the twilight of his career, and he seems to appear on WWE TV only when he’s not busy with the multitude of other projects that he’s working on: there’s the podcast, TV appearances, memoir writing, and of course, his band Fozzy.
Jericho won one of the biggest matches of his post-full-time WWE run at WrestleMania 32, gaining the “W” over World Title contender AJ Styles. Sunday night at Payback, he did the job for Dean Ambrose for one of the best matches of the show, and if it’s the final time we’ll see Jericho for a little while, it was a worthy send-off for the Canadian Lionheart.
Jericho tweeted this short “goodbye” on Monday morning:
Thanks @wwe….its been real. See you next time.

It should be noted that Jericho has a history of trolling fans on Twitter. He’s announced that he’ll be in one place on the social medium and end up showing up on Raw, so whether or not this tweet is meant to throw off WWE fans is anyone’s guess. Either way, it’s good to see that a veteran of the industry can pick and choose his spots — he’s earned that right.
