Update On A Major Spoiler From NXT Osaka

On Saturday, NXT held their first big Japanese event in Osaka. Although the event was not aired on WWE Network (or anywhere), the show and particularly the main event was taped, and at least a portion of the big NXT Championship match between two-time champ Samoa Joe and challenger Shinsuke Nakamura will be shown on Wednesday’s episode of NXT.

Nakamura got the expected blow-the-roof-off-the-place hero’s welcome in his return to Japan, where he originally became a genuine pop culture sensation and superstar. In a heated main event, Nakamura was eventually able to hit the Kinshasa and pin Joe to capture the NXT Championship for the second time.

After the match, Nakamura gave a backstage interview on his title win and being back in his home country for the event.

He also found the time to catch up with some old New Japan friends, as documented in this Extremely Good Photo.

So now Nakamura and Joe are the two two-time NXT Champions. I guess the next step is finding out whether Joe can become the first three-time champ, as this game of oneupsmanship continues to get increasingly more one-uppy.
