Over the last year, the WWE has been periodically airing the “Live Network Specials” as a cross between a house show and a PPV, giving you more incentive to drop the $9.99 a month for the network if you’re one of the few remaining holdouts. We’ve had “Beast in the East” from Japan in July, “Live from Madison Square Garden” in October, and now “WWE Roadblock” coming up this Saturday.
Considering the success the WWE had recently airing NXT Takeover: London across the pond, the UK seemed like a solid candidate for a future network special. Now the WWE has made it official, announcing on Twitter that the special will take place on Sept. 7 from the 02 arena in London.
Unfortunately for the English fans, “Live in London” is airing during that weird spot in the WWE PPV calendar season in between SummerSlam and Survivor Series, and that is usually one of the less excitable times of the year. Still, UK crowds are routinely one of the best out there, so hopefully the WWE will give them a solid card to be hyped up for.
If Wade Barrett is still working for the company at that point, I’ll be excited to see who they make him take a pin against in front of his home fans.
