Okay, folks. Grab your boomsticks and lock grandma in the basement, because the much-anticipated (by a certain niche group of nerdy horror fans) Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead is almost here. As the title implies, Bruce Campbell’s battle-tested, dunderheaded Ash will be the star of the show, but unlike in the movies, Ash will have plenty of sexy backup. You can’t expect Campbell to carry an entire eight episodes after all. Not with his back.
So, the latest Ash vs. Evil Dead featurette is all about Ash’s new plucky support crew. We have Ash’s loyal non-Mexican sidekick Pablo (Ray Santiago), the sassy brains of the operation Kelly Maxwell (Dana Delorenzo), sexy as heck Deadite investigating cop Amanda Fisher (Jill Marie Jones), and, of course, Lucy Lawless as the mysterious Ruby. I very sincerely hope Ruby actually ends up being Xena herself. I mean, why not? It’s not like it’d be the first time the Xena and Evil Dead universes crossed over.

If you had asked me a year ago, I would have said Ash’s chainsaw and shotgun are the only sidekicks he needs, but I’ll admit, this seems like a pretty solid crew. Ash vs. Evil Dead is set to come racing out of the woods October 31 on Starz.
