While Hugh Jackman may have been a surprising voice of reason about gun control on the Daily Show last night, the usual suspects over at Fox News have been finding plenty of the things to blame the DC Navy Yard shootings on, namely things that have nothing to do with the proliferation of guns. Stuff like too many military ID cards, not enough background checks, TV shows and movies and, of course, “violent video games.” Enter Stephen Colbert.
“Don’t tell me there’s been no proven link between video games and violence,” Colbert said on his show last night. “I mean, Madden 25 just came out and all of sudden there’s a rash of football violence on TV.”
Colbert then played a clip of Eric Bolling asking, “Who’s the jackass who started blaming violence on video games?” I’ll give you one guess what happened next.
