Mr. Robot captivated audiences and critics alike in its inaugural season on USA last summer, so for Season 2 the network is giving the show a confidence boost by adding two extra episodes to the original renewal order as well as an after show for fans who can’t stand to stop watching once the episode is over. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the season premiere airing on July 13th will now be a two-parter with the after show airing directly after the episode ends.
As of now, there is no word yet on whether the after show (called Hacking Robot) will be a feature every week or if it is just a one-time thing for the show’s return. USA should be careful though, if it angers fans they might go all fsociety on the network and hack everyone involved until they get their way.
While minimal plot details have been released for Season 2, Mr. Robot left off with so many things up in the air at the end of last year that whichever direction things head this summer Elliot’s life is bound to blow up in one way or another. Not that it is perfectly stable at the moment, but definitely some blowing up heading his way. Three weeks is a long time to wait for the season to start, especially knowing that there is apparently so much happening two extra episodes were ordered. Whether those are uplifting events (unlikely) or dramatic stress-inducing occurrences (very likely) taking place, we will be happy with whatever is offered. Down with Evil Corp!
