The mere mention of a new Netflix series is enough to pique our interest, they’ve earned that much from us at this point. But the announcement of the new planned eight-part conspiracy thriller drama Paranoid has us extra-stoked. The Bill Gallagher (The Paradise) written series — set to debut this fall — centers around the broad daylight murder of a female doctor in a rural children’s playground, and the search for her killer.
The newly released trailer spotlights an investigation that looks to be taking the audience on a very True Detective-like ride as authorities search for the killer. Clearly, things are about to get worse before they get any better. The British-American series will initially broadcast on ITV in the United Kingdom, before eventually streaming internationally on the Netflix digital platform. Paranoid stars will include Kevin Doyle (Downtown Abbey) Indira Varma (Game Of Thrones), Robert Glenister (The Musketeers), Neil Stuke (Suspects, Doctor Foster), Lesley Sharp (Scott & Bailey) and newcomer Dino Fetscher.
Between Orange Is the New Black, Bloodline, Narcos, Sense 8, Stranger Things, House of Cards, and Marvel Comics-based series, Netflix is certainly on a tremendous roll (yes, we are purposely ignoring the existence of Fuller House despite its success), providing high-quality, unique, and captivating entertainment. So we have high hopes for what Paranoid has in store.
