Major League Baseball officials today handed down 50-game suspensions to 12 players for the use of performance-enhancing drugs in connection to the infamous Biogenesis clinic in South Florida. New York Yankees (occasional) third baseman Alex Rodriguez was the 13th player to receive a suspension today, but he received just a few more games than the others. His suspension will last 211 games, or the remainder of this season and all of next year as well.
While A-Rod claims that he’s going to appeal the punishment – “I’m fighting for my life.” – he returned from his latest injury tonight, and as you can see from the caption above, he was treated properly by the Chicago White Sox fans at U.S. Cellular Field.
