Nike recently built an exhibit as a source of inspiration for the 2008 Men’s Senior National Team headed to Beijing in a few weeks. The USAB exhibit, affectionately titled, ‘The Commitment,’ also serves as a shrine paying homage to the USA Basketball teams of the past. Nike pulled out all the stops with this one. It’s complete with sneakers worn by past players (including Jordan’s Olympic VIIs, and Barkley’s Air Max 180s) and kicks that will be sported this year (Kobe’s Hyperdunk and LeBron’s Zoom Solider II). The USAB space is like a living museum.
Last night Nike had private Launch party for a select few that was off the chain. DJ Cassidy tore it down with a mix of 90s hip-hop. The crowd consisted of an array of beautiful women, Nike personnel and some of NYC’s movers and shakers. Some of the attendees included: Angie Martinez, DJ Clark Kent, New York Jet D’Brickashaw Ferguson, streetball fixtures Raphael Edwards and Ira Miller, and Socialight Ent’s founder Jeremy Agsari.
With a mixture of great music, beautiful people, and ridiculous hors d’oeuvers, the Nike USAB Launch Party definitely was a good look.
‘The Commitment’ is located at 111 West 116 Street in Harlem, New York.
