More ‘Wonder Woman’ Plot Details Emerge

The Wonder Woman standalone movie, directed by Patty Jenkins and staring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, is set to start filming next month in England and the region of Basilicata in Italy. That second location has lent credence to rumors that Wonder Woman’s home of Themyscira will be a setting in the film. Some rumors have claimed there will be a trilogy of Wonder Woman films in three time periods, while another rumor claimed there’s one movie and it spans two time periods (World War I and present day).

Now Den of Geek has heard from a “well-placed source” that the film takes place in three time periods, possibly one for each act:

The first setting will be Themyscira […]. The second period is World War I — the specific year we’ve been given is 1916, which places it right in the middle of that conflict. The movie will then move to the modern day, where it will tie into the events of Justice League Part One.

The changes in time periods may be accompanied by three separate Wonder Woman costumes, because you don’t show Wonder Woman throughout history without breaking out some snazzy retro duds. Cosplayers, gather up your old cookie tins filled with sewing supplies and get ready to cry.
