In the hours before tickets went on sale for a movie that won’t come out for another two months, Star Wars fans felt a great disturbance on Twitter, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in hatred, and were suddenly silenced by #BoycottStarWarsVII. Racists, many of whom are also Donald Trump supporters, are protesting “anti-white propaganda” The Force Awakens for promoting “white genocide,” because oh no, there’s a black guy in the trailer?
The underlying belief, according to Twitter user @DarklyEnlighten, who identifies as a neoreactionary and with the Pro-Trump white supremacist “alternative right,” and previously tweeted that he hopes Trump would turn out to be a fascist, is that Star Wars “belongs” exclusively to white people. There aren’t that many minorities in the Star Wars universe — after seeing A New Hope, director John Landis memorably asked George Lucas, “Is everybody in outer space white?” — but to these horrible trolls, one black guy, or one woman, or one Jew is enough to send them crying to Twitter.
Hey, jerks, get used to it.

You get the point. The responses to the hatred have been great:
See ya, trolls.
