Disney Proves That It Still Has A Sense Of Humor With These Posters For ‘Zootopia’

Disney‘s latest non-Princess outing, Zootopia, is shaping up to potentially be a cleverer-than-expected concept. Animals acting like people is a tried and true Disney formula, but maybe Zootopia can elevate it beyond the usual tropes. Regardless of whether the film is any good, the marketing machine has knocked it out of the park with these posters parodying notable movies from 2015. These were posted to the official Walt Disney Studios Facebook, and honestly, they’re pretty great. If you think that Ex Machina and 50 Shades of Grey are interesting choices for marketing a children’s film, well, you’d be right, but somehow it works.

Actually, between essentially calling Christian Grey a predator and 50 Shades fans lemmings, someone should probably call the Burn Unit.

Plus, because Star Wars is officially a Disney property and all anyone can talk about, they cash in on that sweet Force money.

Zootopia hits theaters on March 4, 2016, so we’ll see soon enough whether the film lives up to a solid Straight Outta Compton pun.
