I used to think the Detroit Lions were the worst franchise in sports. I was convinced of it when they let Barry Sanders waste away, year after year. I was absolutely convinced of it again when they let sub-par teams destroy them in the playoffs and hired Matt Millen to fix the whole thing. But I was wrong about them. They’re a piss-poor franchise but I was wrong about them.
