“Happy Gilmore” has been out for 19 years, and for 19 years amateur golfers everywhere have been unsuccessfully attempting to replicate Happy’s run-up slapshot swing.
Over the weekend, the latest dudes to give it a go was a group that waited until the 18th hole, when alcohol consumption has peaked, to each took a turn. One of which was caught on camera by a guy who is lucky to not have a hole in his head. According to his story on Deadspin, he suffered only a minor ear injury, which probably isn’t traumatic enough to force these guys not to try this again sometime.
