Mike Fiers hurled a no-hitter for the first-place Houston Astros on Friday night in a 3-0 victory. And this was no cheapie — it came against the Dodgers, one of the best teams in baseball, and required 134 pitches. Fiers, who came to Houston from the Brewers in a July deadline deal, struck out 10 and his three early inning walks kept it from being a perfect game. It was the 11th no-hitter in Houston history, which is the second most of any franchise.
After the game, his teammates showed their appreciate for the effort by giving him handshakes and high-5s. Oh and also by dumping baby powder and juice all over him:
This joins the Nationals’ Hershey’s syrup celebration as the weirdest/best way to congratulate a teammate.
