Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went on a recent episode of Pete Holmes’ You Made It Weird podcast and claimed to have seen a UFO with his own eyes. And we’re not talking one of those dinky “mysterious light in the sky” UFO sightings; we’re talking full-fledged Independence Day stuff here, man.
For the first time in a public forum, Rodgers told Holmes the story of how he saw an unidentified flying object in New Jersey over a decade ago. The quarterback described in detail the experience, which happened while he was with a few friends prior to the NFL Draft back in 2005. Rodgers says he saw a large, mysterious UFO in the sky followed by the sound of four fighter jets flying by.

Rodgers said ultimately nothing came of the incident — no news coverage or anything — but that he and his friends often discuss and think about it frequently to this day. If nothing else, it made for one hell of a story to tell on a comedy podcast, especially from a guy who you’d think wouldn’t exactly be great on a comedy podcast.
