You’ll Never Believe This But Alabama Is The No. 1 Team In The College Football Playoff

The four teams that will play for this year’s College Football Playoff National Championship Trophy were announced on Sunday afternoon. To the surprise of no one, Alabama is the number one seed in the nation, as the Crimson Tide went undefeated on the season en route to the SEC Championship.

The two seed is Clemson, the ACC champs and the team that fell to the Crimson Tide in last year’s final. At three are the Ohio State Buckeyes, which generated the tiniest amount of controversy by making the Playoff despite not winning its conference, while the four seed went to Washington, the champions of the Pac-12.

Because the committee released the top-6, we learned that Penn State came in at No. 5 and Michigan came in at No. 6. The Nittany Lions were the source of the controversy involving the Buckeyes, as Penn State won the Big Ten and had a head-to-head victory over Ohio State. However, a number of factors led to the committee taking Ohio State, including Urban Meyer’s team ending the year with one loss while James Franklin’s had two.

No matter what, this year’s Playoff is going to be outstanding Alabama vs. Washington in the Peach Bowl will be a fantastic game, while Clemson vs. Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl is going to be a war. Both games are on New Year’s Eve, while the championship game will take place on Jan. 9 in Tampa.
