Watch A High School Safety Make An Insane Odell Beckham-Like Interception

It is often said that defensive backs play defense because they are wide receivers who can’t catch, but this high-school safety plays both side of the ball and he’d like to take a moment to prove that theory very, very wrong.

David Gonzalez, a free safety for Lake Norman Charter (NC), channeled his inner Odell Beckham, Jr. on this absolutely sick one-handed interception during a recent game against Hunter Huss. The over-the-head, one-handed grab with full extension is insanely impressive and eerily similar to the one that Beckham made last season.

As a quarterback, you can’t even get upset when a defender comes up with an interception like that. You kind of just have to tip your hat and wish he was lining up at receiver for your team.
