Sports can be so incredibly unfair sometimes. Case and point: Jacksonville selected Florida defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. with the No. 3 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft eight days ago. The ultra-talented Florida native was expected to make an impact and maybe even be a defensive rookie of the year candidate in 2015.
Instead, Fowler went down with a nasty looking left knee injury during his first practice with the Jags. According to Jaguars.com, Fowler suffered a torn ACL and it is expected that he will miss all of 2015.

This looks like his knee just buckled while he was going up against rookie right tackle Watts Dantzler, who is going through a tryout with the team. There aren’t many positives when something like this happens — the injury gods are terrible people — but it does seem like Fowler is staying optimistic:
OT Watts Dantzler, who was blocking Dante Fowler Jr.: "I went to apologize to him and he was like, ‘You’re good, man. It’s just football.’”
