Le’Veon Bell Addresses His Suspension In A Thoughtful Video To Steelers Nation

Back in July, Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell was suspended for the first four games of the NFL season for missing multiple drug tests but on Friday, the league shaved a game off of his suspension and he will now be eligible to return Week 4.

Bell has kept mostly quiet about his suspension, but on Friday afternoon, he tweeted the above one-minute long video explaining his position. In the video, Bell said that he never intentionally missed drug tests and hasn’t smoked since 2014.

According to Bell, the league tried to test him in December and January, but he missed the tests because he was recovering from surgery and couldn’t get to the facilities. In April, Bell said he missed a test because the league attempted to test him at 5:37 in the morning and he was asleep. Despite the kind of lame excuses, Bell said it’s on him that he missed the tests and that he will be a better person when he comes back to the Steelers.

The weird aspect is that despite not really saying anything controversial in the video, Bell deleted the Tweet shortly thereafter, so perhaps the league or the Steelers had some issue with what he said. Thankfully for us though, once a pro athlete posts a video to Twitter, it’s on the worldwide web forever.
