Please Allow A Sumo Wrestler To Show You How Sumo Wrestlers Maintain Their, Um, Figures

Ever wonder how Sumo wrestlers maintain their rotund figures? Well, it’s not from eating cheeseburgers and ice cream, apparently. Rather, in order to get in the 10,000 or so calories they need to consume each day when they’re training, many Sumo guys eat lots of chankonabe, a Japanese stew that helps fatten them up more healthily. In this video from Vice’s Munchies, Sumo champion Byamba — who is 6’1”, 360 lbs. — shows how to make the stew. Enjoy.
