This Arizona Del Taco Manager Thought It Was A Good Idea To Call A Customer A D*ck On Camera

It’s a cliché but in many cases it’s also true: the customer is always right. Sure, there are exceptions. Abusive behavior, harassing other customers, stealing; those are situations in which the customer most assuredly is not right. But when some dude just wants hot sauce to put on his fast food tacos, man, you gotta give it to him.

Apparently, no one told the manager of a Del Taco in Peoria, Arizona. Because when he was asked for some sauce packets, he flipped out on the folks who just wanted a little extra tang on their snacks and lost his job because boom! The sauce-wanters recorded the whole flippin’ thing.

The manager calls the sauce-wanters some nasty names. He curses at them. He pulls the “my dad is the boss” card. All 100 percent no-nos in the service industry, my man. You should know better.

Apparently, the good folks at Del Taco agree because they fired the angry manager after the sauce-wanters posted the video and it naturally went to viral-land. And they didn’t just fire him, they said in a statement that they were appalled as well, per ABC15 in Arizona.

“We strive to provide a positive guest experience at all of our restaurants and were appalled by this behavior as it is not representative of our high guest service standards. We took this incident very seriously and addressed it with the location’s franchisee, who took definitive action by terminating the employee immediately.”

So seriously, guys, take note. When the dude at the drive-thru window wants some sauce packets, just give them to him. It’s not that difficult. Del Taco should be all about love and fast food, not irrational anger and fast food.
