HitFix Premieres Weekly Video Series “Firewall and Iceberg”

LOS ANGELES, November 26, 2013 — HitFix (www.hitfix.com) today announced the premiere of “Firewall and Iceberg,” a weekly video series hosted by longtime friends and television critics Alan Sepinwall and Dan Fienberg.  The program is an evolution of the duo”s popular and long-running audio podcast of the same name and will be available every Tuesday on HitFix.com and YouTube.com/HitFix.

Each new 25-minute episode will find the duo offering their unique insights as they champion the best and worst from the world of TV – from their reactions to the latest episode of “Mad Men” to the future of Netflix and all things in between.

“If you”ve ever listened to Alan and Dan”s audio podcast you are already aware of the great chemistry they have together,” HitFix Editor-in-Chief, President and Co-Founder Gregory Ellwood said. “We”re excited to bring their unique blend of wit and knowledgeable television commentary to a new audience not only on HitFix.com and our YouTube channel, but our growing platform of video distribution partners.”

Known as a pioneer of online TV recapping via his popular blog What”s Alan Watching, Sepinwall recently released the critically acclaimed book “The Revolution Was Televised,” which went on to become one of the first self-published books reviewed by The New York Times. Fienberg is a veteran TV critic and longstanding board member of the Television Critics” Association known for chronicling reality competition series such as “American Idol,” “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race.” Both Sepinwall and Fienberg are full-time TV critics at HitFix.

“For the three-plus years we’ve been podcasting together, some of the listeners have been frequently confused about which one of us is speaking at any given time,” said Sepinwall. “Our hope is that the video show will finally solve this terrible problem – but to keep it from being too easy, I decided it was time to also grow a beard. Your move, Fienberg.”

From newspapers to websites to podcasts, Alan and I have been working our way down a bucket list of media through which to discuss TV,” added Fienberg. “Video is just the next frontier. I eagerly await our 3-D launch in 2015,”

A shortened version of the “Firewall and Iceberg” podcast will continue to be produced with content separate from the video series.
