Get a load of The Joker and Harley in Two Jokey ‘Suicide Squad’ Spots

There's been a great deal of discussion about Suicide Squad's tone, particularly following the shake-ups at Warner Brothers post-Batman V Superman and the speculation about the purpose of the reshoots on the David Ayer film.

Devin Faraci of Birth.Movies.Death contends that he has a source that says that Warner Brothers was looking to up the ante on the humor of the film so that it would more closely resemble the popular trailer featuring the Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody.

Whatever the purpose of the reshoots — whether it's to add more Harley or more jokes (which is likely on in the same) — the tone of these two new television spots is far more akin to that “Queen trailer” than the grim (but still very cool) first teaser. So, if the marketing is to be believed, it does look as though the film will be far more irreverent and darkly humorous than grim and brooding.

Even Amanda Waller is getting her sillies on.

Take a look at the new spots below.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
