Conor McGregor’s Bail Has Been Set After His UFC 223 Presser Meltdown

Conor McGregor’s wild 24 hours may be finally coming to an end with him having his bail set to leave jail and return home to Ireland.

McGregor stormed the UFC 223 press conference on Thursday, just two days before the pay-per-view event, causing mayhem, injuring two fighters and sending the card spiraling out of control.

After McGregor and his buddies threw chairs and a barricade at a bus transporting fighters back to a hotel, a warrant was issued for the former UFC champion’s arrest. UFC president Dana White called the incident the most disgusting moment in the history of the sport and McGregor was subsequently taken into custody after surrendering to New York City police.

McGregor has been charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief, but his bail has been set and he’s being allowed to fly home to Ireland, according to Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting:

While his criminal issues may be leveling out for the time being, his volatile situation with the UFC is anything but settled.

White seems legitimately furious over McGregor’s beef with UFC 223 headliner Khabib Nurmagomedov and his entourage, who cornered Conor’s friend and training partner Artem Lobov at the fighter hotel earlier in the week, slapping him multiple times.

Lobov is off the UFC 223 card after joining McGregor in throwing items at the bus, Michael Chiesa won’t fight Anthony Pettis after he suffered facial cuts due to broken glass and Ray Borg won’t appear on the card either after getting glass fragments in his eye.

As of now, the scheduled main event is Nurmagomedov against Pettis for the lightweight title after Tony Ferguson suffered a knee injury and Max Holloway was declared unfit to fight after his drastic weight cut, per the LA Times:

The UFC event is still scheduled to take place Saturday evening, headlined by Rose Namajunas and Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the UFC Strawweight Championship.
