The Golden State Warriors have been without the services of Steph Curry for 10 games, as the superstar guard suffered a groin injury during the team’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 8. A whole lot has happened in the Bay Area in that time, and it’s been obvious that the team has missed Curry’s leadership on and off the floor.
The Warriors dropped an update on Curry on Saturday, saying the team hoped he could return during its upcoming road trip. That will indeed be the case, as Steve Kerr told the media on Wednesday that Curry will make his return to action on Saturday when Golden State travels to Detroit.

It’s somewhat bittersweet because Curry returning on Saturday means he’ll have to miss Thursday night’s highly-anticipated tilt against the Toronto Raptors. However, Kerr said Curry could play if the circumstances were different and that the team is mostly just doing everything it can to take care of the star.

Curry was performing at an MVP-caliber level prior to his injury, as the Warriors’ leader averaged 29.5 points, 6.1 assists, and five rebounds a night for the two-time defending champions. Golden State has gone 5-5 in his absence, and while it’d be great to see Curry perform at the torrid pace he had prior to going down, the Warriors will certainly be happy with simply seeing him on the floor again.
