Camille Cosby, wife of Bill, is trying yet again to postpone her upcoming deposition on the grounds that it would cause a personal security risk and that her answers could result in an “unnecessary” media circus. What Camille doesn’t quite acknowledge is how the media coverage of the charges against her husband of rape and molestation has already far surpassed circus status. Deadline reports Camille’s latest attempted legal maneuver:

Camille Cosby’s lawyers filed the emergency motion in Springfield, Mass. yesterday. The 71-year-old wife of the embattled comedian is scheduled to be deposed tomorrow in a defamation case against her husband. A previous request to postpone was denied Friday. Cosby himself is scheduled to give another deposition in the case of Judy Huth before February 29. Huth claims Cosby molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was a minor.

As everyone knows by now, Cosby has been embroiled in multiple legal cases against him after dozens of allegations surfaced that he sexually assaulted women over multiple decades and locations. Even though Camille has the option of declining to answer certain questions because of spousal privilege, the judge has ordered that she respond to queries about the alleged assaults themselves. Even though she insists “she has no involvement with the facts or allegations underlying this case”, additional information that could make or break the Huth case may come to light due to her answers.

The deposition is set for Monday the 22nd, so if the courts deny her motion to delay they may have additional evidence for or against Cosby sooner that 24 hours from now.
