(Update: Apparently Hill’s love affair with hot sauce is nothing new, and unfortunately just a case of bad timing on the campaign trail.)
Hillary Clinton must have either not seen or not cared about the opening sketch on Saturday Night Live this weekend poking fun at her habit of pandering to African Americans, because during an appearance on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club this morning she seemed thirsty as ever for the black vote. When host Angela Yee asked the presidential candidate, “What’s something that you always carry with you?” Clinton didn’t stop to think before shooting back “hot sauce” — an obvious-sounding reference to Beyonce’s “Formation.”
Even after getting called out for pandering Clinton clearly had no farts to give, responding, “Okay. Is it working?” But in all seriousness, she did have a perfectly reasonable explanation, claiming that she thinks it keeps her immune system strong. Unfortunately for her, people were not buying it and Twitter sounded off accordingly.
I think an important detail we’re missing here is what kind of hot sauce Hillary Clinton carries with her. You can tell a lot about a person by whether they lean Sriracha, Tabasco, or Cholula.
