When Marvel this morning announced that the director and star of their upcoming Spider-Man movie would be Jon Watts and Tom Holland, my initial reaction was “Who?” followed by “Who?” (I’d like to think the meeting went, “Quick! Find me an even bigger pussy than Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield!”)
In Watts’ case, it turns out, in addition to directing the Eli Roth-produced Clown, he has another film coming out in August – Cop Car, starring Kevin Bacon. I hesitate to say any more about it, because how could possibly get better than “Cop Car, starring Kevin Bacon?”

It looks pretty good, actually. In fact, it kind of makes me wish Kevin Bacon could just be Spider-Man. How many times can they hire the same kid? Honestly, is there anyone out there going “Oh good, they hired another upturned mop with eyes.”
