There have been quite a few Adventure Time video games, some more flippin’ awesome than others, but there’s oddly never been an Adventure Time adventure game. You know, a classic adventure game where you explore, collect a giant pile of vaguely useful crap and solve puzzles.
Well, that changes with the announcement of a new “story-driven adventure game,” Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations. That’s kind of a dry title, but some of the screenshots and the snippet of footage above does seem to capture the show’s wacky charm. I’m not ready to declare the game fully mathematical quite yet, though.
Finn and Jake Investigations will be coming to everything under the sun (yes, even handhelds and the Wii U) sometime this year. Hopefully this game really captures the spirit of Adventure Time, and a solid third of the puzzles are somehow solved with your butt.
