Game Company Hides Job Ad In Files Only Pirates Look At

You’ve got to give Starbreeze Studios some credit: their latest game, “Syndicate,” was a rush job, but they at least had time to hide a cookie in the game for people who were thinking about stealing it.

This takes a bit of background: stolen games online come with an NFO file, basically a little text file that serves as a business card for whoever ripped off the game. This can be anything from illiterate blather to short notes about how to run the stolen game properly.

Starbreeze included one in “Syndicate,” pictured at right, that not only includes what you’d expect, a message asking people to please not steal their game, but also, of all things, a job advertisement.

Hey, they know anybody reading likes games and is computer literate: those are already two things they can cross off the list.
