You’ll Soon Be Able To Play PS4 Games On Your PC or Mac Via Remote Play

While many gamers aren’t aware of the feature, it’s possible to play most PS4 games almost anywhere you want on the PS Vita via Remote Play. Just connect the Vita to the PS4 and you can continue your game on the small screen in another room. You can even connect to other Wifi networks and continue playing at the coffee shop or, if you’re the daring type, at the office.

Of course there’s just one problem with all this – no reasonable person actually owns a PS Vita. Well, thankfully Remote Play will soon be coming to a much wider audience, as Sony has plans to bring the service to computers. Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida dropped this tweet late last evening

The timing of this announcement is interesting, as an independent developer recently released their own PC Remote Play app. I have a feeling that app may not be around for too much longer.

Hopefully Sony’s announcement wasn’t merely about smacking down an indie developer, and that official PC and Mac Remote Play is almost ready to go. A world where I’m free to play Fallout 4 on the can is a world I desperately want to live in.
