Sure, it seems a little sketchy from the outside. Ventriloquist and “America’s Got Talent” winner Terry Fator got a divorce from his first wife, then married a knockout who was 23-years-younger than he shortly thereafter. But in the latest episode of “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” (airing Fri. Feb. 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET on OWN), Fator explains that appearances can be deceiving.
Fator says that he realized after winning “America’s Got Talent” that his marriage had only survived 18 years because his touring schedule rarely allowed them to see one another. Then, he was advised not to reveal the split to the public. The problem was that he was seen in public with his soon-to-be second wife Taylor Makakoa, and rumors flew that he was having an affair. But Fator is having the last laugh — he and Taylor have been happily married since 2010.
