Aubrey Plaza and Dane DeHaan Give Up Zombie Secrets

“Life After Beth” is a zombie movie, but it's a world away from George Romero or “The Walking Dead.”

The demented romcom follows a hopeless romantic (Dane DeHaan of “Kill Your Darlings”) who discovers that his dead girlfriend (Aubrey Plaza of “Parks and Recreation”) has come back to life in a zombified, sometimes violent, always horny form. The two try to navigate a relationship as their town slowly transforms into a zombie stomping ground.

We caught up with Plaza and DeHaan to discuss the weirdest things they've done for a laugh, their costars John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon, and the secrets of making a funny, scary movie.

“Life After Beth” opens August 15.
