Exclusive clip: Man goes superhero nuts on ‘Untold Stories of the ER’

If you’re already feeling like a post-Thanksgiving lump on Friday, you may want to watch “Untold Stories of the ER” (Discovery Fit & Health, 10:00 p.m. ET). No, it won’t help you digest that wad of food that’s probably still sitting uncomfortably in your stomach, but you can at least comfort yourself in knowing that you aren’t sitting in an ER where people like the guy in this exclusive clip might be running around.

In the clip, we meet a guy who just can’t be held down — or at least can’t be held down by less than a big group of people. He’s brought into the ER by police who are barely able to restrain him. And for Dr. Gita Pensa, it’s even more nerve wracking because she’s eight months pregnant. Sure, she wants to help the guy, but she also doesn’t want him to rip her baby out of her and eat it. And that actually seems like a possibility, because this guy is (for some reason) acting pretty nutso.

Also in this episode, a woman comes into Dr. Justin Strittmatter”s ER with her vacationing family complaining of a severe headache. As her condition deteriorates, Dr. Strittmatter is at a loss to explain the cause – until the answer shows up from the last place anyone expected. Then, during one crazy night in the ER, Dr. John Lucas is faced with a trio of challenging patients, including an accused drug dealer in police custody, a man with a knife in his chest, and an accident victim with a fencepost through his torso. That’s right — a fencepost through his torso. See? There are worse things than a Thanksgiving hangover!

Will you make “Untold Stories of the ER” part of your post-Thanksgiving viewing?
