‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans Are Going To Great (Creepy) Lengths For Spoilers

HBO

The night is dark and full of terrors, and so is the wait until Game of Thrones is back. To pass the time until 2019, fans of the HBO mega-hit are going to great lengths to find out everything and anything they can about the final season.

For instance, Carice van Houten, who plays Melisandre, recently posted a since-deleted video on Instagram of her driving at night. She’s one of the few actors who hasn’t yet been spotted on the Thrones set, but a Reddit user noticed that her car was on the left side of the road in the footage, placing her in the United Kingdom. The amateur sleuth also observed a passing sign, which after some time spent on Google Earth was determined to be “on the A1 near Dromore, driving southwards from Belfast.” And guess what’s near there?

Just a few miles down this road, she’ll reach Linen Mill Studios in Corbet-Banbridge, where the production has filmed scenes at locations as diverse as Riverrun, Winterfell, the Three-Eyed Raven’s cave, and more. (Via)

There’s still no official confirmation that Melisandre will be in season eight, but considering what happened the last time we saw her, when she told Varys that she will return one last time because “I have to die in this strange country, just like you,” it’s a safe bet we haven’t seen the last of the Red Woman. But that’s not really the point. No matter how many precautions the cast takes, no matter how quickly they delete accidental social media clues, no matter how many scripts are “entirely digital” (all of them), the little birds are always watching.
