Stan Lee’s ‘Chakra the Invincible’ to become live-action movie

Stan Lee is the gift that keeps on giving. The 93-year-old comic book legend and his company POW Entertainment have just signed a deal to bring Chakra the Invincible to the big screen.

The movie, which is based on the Indian animated superhero, centers on Raju Rai, a genius who has developed a suit that unleashes the power of the chakras and uses them to save the world. The movie will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

“I”m a fan of Bollywood films and am really excited about launching Chakra the Invincible as my first Bollywood superhero movie,” Lee said. “Vikramaditya is an amazingly talented filmmaker who I have no doubt can make the Chakra film a massive hit in India and around the world. I only hope he remembers to include my cameo!”

Since the character was introduced in 2011, there has already been an animated Chakra TV movie with one more in the works as well as a mini-series. As opposed to the animated version where he”s in his early teens, the movie iteration of Chakra will be in his 20s.

Chakra the Invincible, which will be produced with Phantom Films, does not yet have a release date.
