Tuesday Ratings: Golden State wins the NBA Championship, ABC wins night

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

The Golden State Warriors capped off their NBA Championship run with a Game 6 win and ABC capped off the highest rated NBA Finals on the network with a Tuesday win in all measures.

ABC is estimating that the NBA Finals series was up a whopping 31 percent over last year, keeping in mind that these Fast National ratings reflect time period data and not ratings for the game itself.

“America's Got Talent” and particularly “I Can Do That” were both down from last week, but still put NBC in second place for the night, while FOX's coverage of the Women's World Cup did solid key demo ratings.

Let's get to the numbers…

Among adults 18-49, ABC averaged a 6.2 rating for Tuesday night, easily topping the competition in the key demographic. NBC was second with a 1.9 key demo rating, followed closely by FOX's 1.7 key demo rating. CBS' 0.7 key demo rating and The CW's 0.3 key demo rating trailed.

Overall, ABC averaged an estimated 16.49 million viewers and a 9.7 rating/17 share for Tuesday primetime. That doubled up the 8.16 million viewers and 4.8/8 for NBC on the night. CBS was third with 6.1 million viewers and a 4.1/7, topping the 4.64 million viewers and 2.6/4 for FOX. The CW averaged 1.04 million viewers and a 0.6/1 for the night.

[Remember that the World Cup game on aired entirely out of primetime for half of the country, so these numbers, like ABC's basketball numbers, are time period data and not ratings for the game itself.]
