Watch: Bruce Willis and Henry ‘Man of Steel’ Cavill in ‘Cold Light of Day’ trailer

Before taking on one of the most famous roles in movie history in 2013’s “Superman: Man of Steel,” Henry Cavill is joining Bruce Willis and “JCVD” director Mabrouk El Mechri for the action film “The Cold Light of Day.” Summit released the film’s first trailer (above) this week.

Sigourney Weaver and Veronica Echegui also star in the action film from writers Scott Wiper and John Petro.

In the film, Will Shaw (Cavill) and his family (including Willis as his CIA agent dad) venture out on a weeklong sailing trip in Spain when he finds himself on the run from brutal secret agents trying to find a mysterious missing briefcase. The trailer starts off with family fun in the sun before giving way to some fairly standard-looking thrills, narrative twists and some rather shaky line readings by Cavill (although, like in “Immortals,” running, jumping and punching people in the face seem to be his specialties). It’s fun, though, to imagine that Willis is paying the same character he did in “Red” and that Weaver is playing her character from last year’s “Abduction.”

“The Cold Light of Day”opens nationwide April 6.
